  1. What is about adorable little things … children, other animals, etc., that can make us crusty old codgers and codgeresses go all soft and gooey?

      1. Awww… thank you for telling me! I knew it would get to you first! Yes, it’s only just gone half five here. Quite a ways till the bells (sadly, there aren’t any here). Happy 2k18 to you!

    1. Yonks ago I had an old, small, edition, of an Oxford English Dictionary, and the definition / meaning of; the word cute was cunning.

My current one doesn’t; it does however say that it comes from the word acute, and 2 of acute says – shrewd, so cunning /shrewd? Yep I’ll go along with that.

And Poppy? Cute as they come, can twist me around with no trouble whatsoever,

She’s also a cutie in the modern idiom, and I love her to bits 😀 😛

      1. Blackies Concise English Dictionary, produced to wartime economy standards in 1948 defines cute as: an abbreviation of acute; clever; sharp (colloq). Collins Concise English Dictionary 1985 defines cute as: 1. appealing or attractive esp, in a pretty way 2. affecting cleverness or prettiness 3. clever, shrewd, AND shortened – as in acute. So take your pick.
