Yonks ago I had an old, small, edition, of an Oxford English Dictionary, and the definition / meaning of; the word cute was cunning.
My current one doesn’t; it does however say that it comes from the word acute, and 2 of acute says – shrewd, so cunning /shrewd? Yep I’ll go along with that.
And Poppy? Cute as they come, can twist me around with no trouble whatsoever,
She’s also a cutie in the modern idiom, and I love her to bits 😀 😛
