Pingbacks

This is a spontaneous attempt/ post/blog call it what you will in an endeavour to work out what this damned pingback thing is, those of you who follow Sue, will know the trouble she is experiencing, with this, and the  fun and games she’s been having, with those ludicrously titled “Happiness Engineers” at WordPress;
I now have to go post a link into this

Word Prompt Spontaneity
So once I figure out what I paste, and where that is, will you all

Well this wont work, It’s Thursday here and this thing is Wednesdays ping which is closed.
Not sure whether I’ll try this stuff again, is it any wonder I have grey hair

    1. Derrick, he successfully linked his article to our word prompt Spontaneity over at GC and my site Weekly Prompts. He left a pingback for us so that we can come over and read his article.

  1. Brian, well done, you did it and at the first attempt!
Now you know what a pingback is! First of many?
I’m so glad you linked to us and I thank you. 🙂

  2. If you don’t want pingbacks or trackbacks showing up on your own blog, you can delete them or block them altogether in your settings. Spammers will sometimes use them to attract readers to their material.

    1. Pied Type, Brian has been learning how to take part in word prompts and challenges. He created his own pingback to link to my other site Weekly Prompts.

    2. Thats what I call throwing a hammer in the works and the French chucked one of their clogs/shoes thereby giving us the word sabotage and I’m getting more confused than ever.

  3. You’ve got grey hair because you’re over eighty Brian!
Normal comments are closed on those pages so that the pingbacks show up eassier and don’t get lost in a mixed bag of comments. We come to your site to make our comments, just like I have now. Love your Gracie Fields song, 1939? My grandma played the record on her wind up gramophone.

    1. Hadn’t thought of that, fancy getting grey hairs cos I’m over eighty, What happens when I’m over the ton?
I liked Gracie better than Vera, Vera used to live quite close to the last school I attended. Don’t know how or why it appears twice, I’ll go edit and get rid of one.

      1. I’m beginning to think your way is ‘organized chaos’ – what do you think?

        1. I’m thinking perhaps this comment was for the election thing, in which case no there is no chaos here at election time.
The independent Electoral Commission that handles every election in Australia run an absolutely brilliant corruption free election. Woe betide any pollie that tries to interfere. Every polling booth in Australia works to the exact same system with the exact same tools. It’s amazing and works perfectly. I love it.

I used to play table tennis – ping pong when I went to live in Brisbane, I was very good at it, in fact it’s the only sport or game that I was good at.I was going to write about that in the post but I just wanted to be finished with that saga 😛 😉 😀 😈

  7. Have another look at Weekly Prompts on Saturday. It’s my turn to publish a challenge, this time you have to find or take a photo to match the word. I publish at 7:00AM my time. Same technique applies you highlight a word and paste the link that is provided on Weekly Prompts. I can’t give you it until the challenge is published. 🙂

    1. Not sure about photographs. I included that word spontaneous in the next post I did and I don’t know it that got pinged or ponged.

      1. At least you know how to do it’s done. Prompts/Challenges aren’t for everyone, some can’t resist them and attempt several each day. I started doing them as a way of meeting other bloggers, before that I only had a couple of followers. Then last year for the fun of it (or something like that) Gerry and I began setting our own challenges, just two a week. One word prompt and one photo challenge but we’re flexible anything goes, words or pictures.

        1. Did my second one work too? I notice it says at the top -featured- where it normally says the date LBOB and the number of comments
