I doubt anyone can be more surprised than I. I’m not going to bore those that pop by, to see what I’m rambling on about this time, with the details, but just say that I’ve been somewhat unwell, and had thought, that by now, I’d be well and truly chilling off down in Wollongong.
There is some indication that the War Office is perhaps concerned, she repeatedly keeps askingΒ ” What am I going to do?” I must admit, I’ve been tempted to tell her that she might do the right thing, and precede me, kind of pave the way for my grand entrance.
Anyway, I’m still here, doing nothing,Β not enjoying it one bit, I’d go completely around the bend if it wasn’t for my Coco, he stays with me, and keeps me company, notΒ that he’s much company, he lies down, goes to sleep, and snores; which I suppose is company of sorts.
I confess, I rushed through the last couple of posts I did, to make sure I got them out of the way and finish up one load of codswallop at least.
Since then, whilst flopped out, doing precious little, I’ve been toying with all the little episodes to regale the faithful, some funny, some not so funny, all true. Like the time I aided an escaper from jail get clean away, and got paid $40.00 for my effort,
That was back in 1980/81; thereabouts and I still chuckle when I recall that time.
Then there was my run in, with one Mr Wilson “Iron Bar” Tuckey; so named because he did, at one time, take to an Aborigine with an iron bar. That wasn’t funny; and a couple of years before that, my meeting with a very young Mr Rod Laver, around the time of his first “Grand Slam” ; now that was funny.
Must admit, that it’s hard trying to get motivated. I haven’t touched the stuff that I’m gathering together for my granddaughters, to read when they grow, I have well over 100 pages ready, kind of to print out, but there is so much missing, I want to finish it off properly. Can’t stand leaving stuff half done!
As for my email, I’ve opened the thing most mornings, taken one look occasionally opened up one or two post notifications, made a comment and closed the thing down.
Β I apologize to all that have written to me, and to all those that may think that I’ve been ignoring them and their post, I will try and catch up over the next few days, cheersΒ
I shan’t click on like, because it doesn’t seem like the right thing to do, after reading your post. I shan’t even pick on you, how’s that for a change?
I hope you feel a bit better soon, so I can once again treat you with irreverence. Coco is a good lad, keeping you company, even if his snores are a tad annoying.
Take care, M’Lord. β€

I am sorry to read that you are so unwell, but do not go scaring Coco, nor me.
If Coco has the guts to stick around and keep you company displaying his snoring virtuosity, the least you can do is keep on breathing, deeply and continuously. And bless the snores of Coco.

I truly hate reading this post. I understand it but hate hearing it. You have always been a steady source of education for me. I tell people all the time about my dear friend in Australia who is the smartest man i know. I hope with all my heart your comfortable and content with the life you’ve had. What a exciting life! I will keep you and family in my prayers weather you like it or not. (can’t hurt). Love you my friend. Lisa

You’ve been on my mind a lot this week, and only yesterday I almost sent you an e-mail to ask if you were okay. I changed my mind because I didn’t want to hear something I didn’t want to hear, hope that makes sense!
Don’t give up just yet please, you haven’t even nearly finished your innings yet!
Take it easy and rest up but please don’t give up! π

Thank you Sue;
I do believe that that pingback I did last week has caused that post that I pinged to stay on top of all subsequent posts, seems it’s featured and I don’t know how to stop that and stick it back where it belongs.

Hello Brian, I think you may have created a sticky post. I have emailed you the instructions to unstick plus with screen shots. Hope this is the cause. π

After sending you the e-mail I checked out your site. Perhaps I should have done that first. Everything looks fine to me so I guess you must have fixed whatever was wrong. π

Sometimes it’s better to float.
Does the printing of stories/posts remind you of things you’ve yet to tell us? Hope so. We’re standing by ( and used to delays from all the darn homeland security lines..)
It’s already terrible summer’s heat here (feels like 100F and simple repeat until Oct, I fear) really hard to get motivated here, too. Hopefully your fall weather will wrap some energy around you soon!

It’s damnably cold here Phil, I have got some tales to tell once I get motivated.

Darn. What about those sheep wool lined UGS everyone’s supposed to wear (confession – kid bought me some and they are glorious indoors in cold wet winters)
Snoozing is good. Not sure why people feel guilty about it – sometimes you just need to recharge and float along until hasta later

The UGG Boots is a very sore point here Phil, seems like some people in Chicago claim them and have patented them, so now the people here in Australia have been told that they are in breach of the Americans patent and have been ordered by the American courts to pay the Chicago Mob millions of dollars.
UGG Boots are Australian and I would not be seen dead in them but it’s the principle. BIG BROTHER BULLY YANKS from the Chicago, Al Capone lives on.
Snoozing is good and I’ve been doing big heaps of it, my veranda faces true North and the sun shines right on to it and I doze off quite easily in the late Autumn warm sunshine,

Hi, Brian. I won’t go all gooshie (as we used to say when I was younger), but while I still have your ear, thanks for all the visits and comments–well, almost all of them! π And thanks for all your great stories. You’re one of the most laid-back writers I’ve seen here at WP! Thanks for taking me in (being a foreigner and all that), and letting me be part of your WP family. I haven’t been able to get here as often as I used to–and can at least empathize with you right now.
As for what you’ve already written, it’s probably more than enough to convey not just the times in which you lived, but your rather eccentric (in a good way of course!) personality. Though we would probably come to blows if we were neighbors for real, I’ve loved getting to know you via WP, and hope you’ll still find energy to show up right here from time to time to let us know what’s happening. π

Well, as you know, I have a point of comparison, so I would say you have a little more puff in you, so don’t book the transport to the Gong just yet. Certainly, don’t book it while I’m away, as I have been recently. It’s just been the twelve month anniversary for my brother. I feel so much nostalgia about the tough times we shared together – nostalgia is not the right word – because who in their right mind would want to relive those times? But! About the attitude we shared towards them, and the experience which moulded us into our unique beings – which, he, too, reflected on, but did not record. So keep on slogging away at that keyboard when you feel up to it. xxx

Twelve moths already. Time just slips past and way without us noticing at my age, I haven’t made arrangements for transport to the Gong yet, it might have to wait a bit longer. Just worrying about the Uni, wonder if they think I’ve gone somewhere else
