🐾 Coco post op. 🐾

All’s well with Coco  🙂

Coco Groomed

This photo was taken back in August, after his visit to Orange Dogs for his beauty treatment; and as the look on his face proclaims ” am I not the handsomest of dogs”

🐶 🐾 🐩

The time was getting on when we brought our Coco home, he looked so sick, he was still heavily drugged to ease the pain, looking  lost, and forlorn,  I doubted I could deliver a coherent report.

Doctor Joanna, gave us a complete run down on the operation, and treatment, that Coco received as an in-patient,

She then explained the findings of the Radiology/Ultrasound, carried out under the anaesthetic, and all is good, all his organs and bits are in good shape, and there is no spread of the cancer. You can imagine the relief we felt.

After everything was explained, instructions delivered and understood, Dr Joanna brought  our Coco in; the poor little fellow looked so down, his tail barely wagged, the look on his face asking, “why did  you do this to me?”

It was obvious when we got him home, that he was not feeling the greatest, not the least bit interested in food, or treats, he just wanted to lay down and sleep, on his beach towel.

….and out

He stayed,on his beach towel until very late, he wouldn’t come in with me, like he normally does of an evening, didn’t want his evening special treats, or ice cream; finally toddling off to his own bed, well after 11 pip emma.

I awoke, and got up, as normal at 0550, to give him his morning capsule & pill (for the heart murmur) at 0600, he was not waiting. I decided that I wouldn’t go and waken him if he was still sleeping, and I’d reschedule the medication, and his breakfast, when he came round.

Didn’t have to wait long, 0615 there he was, a bright as a button, wagging tail, ready for his pills, and he’s been back to his usual self all day, looking for treats, and cuddles, and strokes, and if I had a tail it’d be wagging too.

  1. Oh, poor Coco! He has been through so much! 😦
    Coop and I are so glad he is home and is on the mend! 🙂 We are so so SO glad to hear he is back to his Coco-self now and is waggin’ his tail, etc.! That’s wonderful! 🙂
    (Coop understands what Coco has been through because Coop has had 3 surgeries in the past 9 years.)
    We continue to wish Coco the best! and please give him some gentle rubs and pats for us! 🙂
    HUGS!!! 🙂

    1. Wonderful news! I know how worried you must have been. Looks like they really worked him over. No wonder he was so tired when he got home. Anyway, give him my love and lots of pats and scritches.

      1. Thank you Susan, they did indeed give him a good going over; poor little chap he looked so sad as you can see in those couple of pictures; but I’m delighted to say that today, he’s back to his old self. Although he wasn’t too happy, when we took him back to have his dressing changed, an hour or so ago; poor Coco, thought he was going to be left there again. He’s getting so many hugs pats scratches and kisses he thinks I’ve gone around the twist. 😁 😈😊😅

    2. Thank you very much Carolyn, it’s so hard, and strange for them, they don’t understand, and they trust us implicitly; that it makes it harder on we, who love them. 😥 😥 🐶 🐾

      This was Coco’s 5th major surgery in 3 years, 😩😞 he dreads going to the hospital ,in the fear of being left there again, 😩😞

      Coco says to say thank to Coop and big (((HUGS))) for you 😊 😅😁😊😅

      1. Yes, it’s tough because they can’t tell us in words how they are feeling. 😦 But, they do try so hard to communicate in some very creative, smart ways. 🙂

        5 surgeries in 3 years! 😦 Poor Coco! 😦

        Cooper and I send more love and gentle pats!
        HUGS, too!!! 🙂

    1. The best new possible Sue, such a relief I’ve been quite up tight, even to the extent getting disperser mad and spitting the dummy.

        Now I’m wondering what you said to get Disperer so mad! 😀

    So glad he’s doing well, our pets become family and just like a child we worry about them. Hope all is well with you.

  8. The Little Black Dog by J. Anderson

    The Little Black Dog

    by j anderson…………………………………..

    THE LITTLE BLACK DOG
    I wonder if Christ had a little black dog,
    All curly and wooly like mine;
    With two silky ears and a nose round and wet,
    And two eyes, brown and tender, that shine.
    I’m sure if He had, that little black dog
    Knew right from the start He was God,
    That he need no proof that Christ was divine
    But just worshipped the ground that He trod.
    I’m afraid that He hadn’t, because I have read
    How He prayed in the garden alone;
    For all of His friends and disciples had fled–
    Even Peter, the one called a stone.
    And oh, I am sure that little black dog,
    With a heart so tender and warm,
    Would never have left Him to suffer alone,
    But creeping right under his arm,
    Would have licked those dear fingers, in agony clasped;
    And counting all favors but loss,
    When they took Him away would have trotted behind,
    And followed Him right to the Cross.

  9. I step away from the blog community for a few days and look at the chaos.(clicking back to catch up)
    That little pup is so brave – he knows he is needed. Good dog Coco! (Now just tolerate and be patient with the large clumsy ones as they tend you – probably treats!)
    Whew. Glad everyone’s perking up and doing well

  10. Phew! All’s well that ends well, then. But what an anxious time all round. Sounds as if he had one mighty hangover when you first brought him home 😀

  11. Yay Coco! What a relief for both of you. D and I love watching vet shows in the evenings, especially when they’re working on dogs. The body language of a dog being reunited with his/her owner is magical! 🙂
