In response to a comment I made…

...a couple of weeks back to a post by my Australian mate who, of late, has been changing his name with such alarming frequency, that I’m starting to wonder whether the boys at Russell Street want him for questioning, I’ve given some thought, not much, just some, to writing about some of the people, and characters, I’ve met over the last few years, well 60 or so year, that I’ve been living and working in Australia.

For starters I thought it would be an idea to run some pictures of some that I’ve met, had a drink with, or worked for, over those years, and I’m going to let my Bushie Mate, exiled Norwegian grandpa, or story telling pal, take his pick.

For the rest of those who drop in for a visit I hope and trust you will 🐻 with me!

The pictures have been grouped into Sportsmen. Knights of the Realm. Australian entertainers. & a politician/publican! Plus a jail for good measure.

As you will see, there is only one Β representative from the gentler sex, a lovely young lady with whom I worked for more than four years.

Now all my Bushie mate has to do is identify, and thenΒ tell me which he wishes me to write about.

Can’t be fairer than that now; can I?Β

        How are you going, M’Lord?

        2. Nah, I am on the dreaded waiting list for more surgery. Hmm, I wonder if they could work in a few (well, lots, really) nips and tucks while I’m on the table?

  2. Ok, you sneaky Pommy bastard! So if I don’t recognise some photo, let’s say Sir Robert Helpman, you’re going to say I’m an ignorant Victorian or some other slur that you will invent. So I don’t intend to go through them all. I will pick two, and give you a choice. Polly Farmer deserves a shot. and then there is Jack and …… OK I’ll decide,
    Sir Eric.
    Is that OK?

    1. I’d have appreciated a devious Pommy bastard more,,cos that’s what I’ve been. At some stage I’ve met all of these people and there are links between many. The only one that is not linked is Polly Farmer. Two, I actually worked for, one was the best bloke I’ve ever worked for, and the other the worst! Three when I was working for myself, I wasn’t much of a bloke to work for either. 😈

By the bye I loved the opening and will not be changing it πŸ˜€

      1. Thank you for that. I was a little concerned. Why don’t you start with the best. The worst might encourage a libel suit.

  4. Frankly, my dear, I want to hear about all of them! One at a time, of course…. πŸ™‚ I will, however, settle happily on Polly Farmer for starters. Thank you, man of many names for going along with he who must be obeyed.

Glad to see above that you’re having mostly up days, Brian. πŸ™‚

  5. I hope you wont be disappointed when I tell you that they will be linked, possibly in groups of three, and once I start you’ll see the reasoning behind my cussedness 😈 πŸ˜€ 🐻 🐱
