A Wrap on Rapp

Recently one of the minor TV stations in Sydney gave us a re-run of the movie “East of Eden” mentioned in my post “Mitch Rapp…..” etc etc etc :).

How time changes our perceptions of things; back in the 50’s when I saw this film originally I regarded it as a masterpiece of movie making; looking at it now I realize it was a load of Hollywood‘s usual codswallop, any similarity between the movie and Steinbecks story was purely coincidental.

Two of the most important people in the story were completely excluded/eliminated from the script, one of whom was an actual person; John Steinbecks grandfather, Sam Hamilton who’s picture appears hereunder!

🙂
